About Andrzej Krzanowski

Sonata di concerto is a one-movement piece, but at the same time, it is multi-element and multi-segment. There are 13 double bar lines in the work, which testifies to the scheduling and complexity of the form of this less than 10-minute piece. A feature that differs this piece from Krzanowski’s other works is the lack of a certain narrative continuity, which requires the performer to perform each episode very diligently, consisting of one of the following sound figures: 1. a falling figure (derived from the initial one), 2. a rhythmically varied figure, 3. passaging figure (rising or broken), 4. figure created from chord repetition. The first two are thematic in nature, and the others play a leading or connecting role, creating independent episodes in the further course of the work.

This composition was an obligatory piece during the 1st National Accordion Competition Alkagran in Czechowice-Dziedzice in 2000.
