Comments about the Works
Ode, through a highly exposed motif of the mordent type, evokes the beginning of Bach’s famous work. The expressive power here is emphasised by the notation Pesante, and intensified by the persistently repeated sound d. The counterbalance is created by contrasting phrases in terms of dynamics and expression, developing in the opposite movement in a small ambitus, always starting with the sound g sharp and bearing the term dolce.
