About Andrzej Krzanowski

The piece was completed just before the beginning of Krzanowki’s composition studies. It consists of six episodes, separated by long general rests (the longest lasts 11 seconds), and presents various, also continued in later works, ways of musical narration and articulation (chord repetitions – struck or obtained with a windbag, continuous sounds of varying density of vibrato, clusters and glissandi, gradually overlapping sounds, large dynamic fluctuations). The numbering proposed by the composer indicates the intention of creating more pieces as well. Was the later series of accordion Studies a realisation of this idea?
