Comments about the Works
If we compare the arrangement of the parts of this work to a work of art that can be closed with external wings, we discover what is most important in it, what is the centre and what completes it. Here “in the central panel,” there is the Canon, the most perfect polyphonic form, extremely subtle and full of humility, despite being in a tritone. And on both sides – like a bodyguard – the full, strong sounds of the Prelude and the dynamic energy of the Postlude.
